Intellectual Property Litigation: ISPs, Drawn to Scale, Domain Names, Composite Products

August 18, 2004 Full PDF

The August 18 New York Law Journal features an article written by Lewis Clayton entitled, "ISPs, Drawn to Scale, Domain Names, Composite Products." The article discusses an otherwise obscure case about a patent covering "vandalism-resistant building modules" designed for jails that has been set for en banc review by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Lew indicates that the Court is set to review basic principles of the law of patent claim construction, and notes that this may be the most important single issue raised in appeals to the Federal Circuit. The article also discusses other significant recent copyright, patent and trademark cases. Susanna Buergel assisted in the preparation of this article.
