Cybersecurity & Data Protection Co-Chair John Carlin co-hosted the first-ever cybersecurity workshop at the 2025 IAPP Global Privacy Summit, the industry’s premier global privacy event. Litigation partner and AI specialist Anna Gressel and litigation counsel and former government official Sam Kleiner participated in several panels within the day-long workshop, “Cybersecurity Law: Risk, Resiliency and Compliance.” John moderated two panels, “CISOs and Counsel: How Can They Work Together?” and “Deep Dive – Ransomware – How to Handle Extortion”; Anna moderated a panel, “AI and Supply Chain Risk”; and Sam participated in “Deep Dive – The DOJ’s New Rule on Sensitive Data Transfers.” The workshop, which took place in Washington on April 22, covered updates on the threat environment and trends in cybersecurity enforcement and litigation, practical advice on incident response and strategic insights on cloud contracts, risk mitigation and compliance.
